Dedicated to Protecting Life and Property
Members of San Jose Fire Fighters are all trained firefighters, and have capabilities in a variety of areas. These include structural firefighting, wildland firefighting, medical care at the EMT and Paramedic level, aircraft crash rescue, swift water rescue, low/high angle rescue, trench rescue, hazardous materials, open water rescue, collapse rescue, vehicle extrication, arson investigation, fire prevention inspection, supervision/leadership, apparatus operation, safety supervision, and much more.
Our ranks include Fire Recruits, Firefighters trained to the EMT or Paramedic level, Fire Engineers, Fire Captains, Battalion Chiefs, Arson Investigators and Fire Prevention Inspectors.
Our members serve the community outside of their daily firefighting work, through community programs organized by or supported by San Jose Fire Fighters.
These programs include the San Jose Fire Fighters Burn Foundation, Los Bomberos of Northern California, the San Jose Fire Museum, Fire Explorers Post 888, the Shark Engine, our Charitable Donations Program, and our activities such as Day on the Lake, Breast Cancer Awareness, Relay for Life, sports camps, Christmas tree give-aways, holiday food donations and more.
